What an amazing night! This is the stuff stories are made of that incite a passion for doing the right thing. I was coming out of a club called “Apple Lounge” at 2 a.m. this morning (it’s 6 a.m. right now) and was crossing the street to get into my car when I saw a crowd of people protesting the passing of proposition 8. The protesters were on Santa Monica and Robertson Blvd in West Hollywood. I decided to join them in the march for “No on Prop 8″ and the fight to erase discrimination to provide equal rights to all! It was an amazing experience. So many people united in the fight against discrimination! We walked for a couple blocks as police kept traffic at bay and continue their non-violent march and protest the discrimination against them. Freedom of speech and expression right? When we approached Crescent Heights Blvd we all sat down on the ground in the middle of the street and someone with a megaphone said we have a surprise speaker. And…. it was Drew Barrymore! What a huge surprise. At 2 a.m. and for an A-List celeb to do something like that is simply amazing and selfless. It just goes to show you what a passionate and loving person Drew is. Drew stood up from sitting on the ground in the middle of the crowd to speak. No one even knew she was there. She blended in very well. Plainly dressed with no makeup. Just Drew and beautiful! She spoke out against the discrimination that the prop 8 bill posed on gays and lesbians. She rocked! Everyone was very moved and pumped. For her to come out to march with everyone inspired me. Everyone was thanking her for coming out to support everyone! We all love you Drew! Check out the video above. Sorry for the low quality. It was taken with my cell phone video camera.
